My Enterprise Brain is Made of Cloud Neurons

Tuesday, Jun 28th 2022

Our organization, our department, our team relies on services to operate going from marketing, to support, to sales processes, to delivery management to post-sales activities. In order to be efficient, an enterprise’s brain needs to have a holistic, connected-view to make the right decision. Imagine a brain with neurons which are not connected to each other? It would be a chaos!

We know little about how our brain works but we know for sure that neurons talk to each other and the local information is made public in a fraction of a nano-second and shared with other neurons to think, to talk, to move, to dream, to make decisions…

Similarly, Cloud Services are like neurons, they individually operate a specific task very efficiently in the best way they can. But imagine when those individual Cloud Services talk to each other. They become more powerful, they can share crucial information, generate new insights based on information crowd-sourcing. Cloud services are connected and aggregated thanks to APIs. Gartner talks about the "API Economy”, its benefits to the company to make business applications talk to each other; it enables Cloud Services to be accessed not only from a User Interface (GUI web-based via an Internet browser) but also via IT programming (source code, scripts, Web Services).

Integrators can help Enterprises and corporations orchestrate their business applications and their data. Additionally metrics can be put in place to help business measure impact on their business and make sound decisions to improve their revenue, reduce operational cost or improve customer satisfaction.

GMC Software has decided to invest in the creation of a Cloud API to become part of the Cloud eco-system which is composed of many applications for your business ecosystem. GMC Inspire Cloud is one application among many worth considering.
