Gardening for health with charity Thrive

For Quadient UK’s community day 2019, the team got closer to nature by volunteering with ‘gardening-for-health’ charity Thrive. Based near Reading, Thrive specialize in using therapeutic horticulture to improve people’s lives and our team helped the charity by completely clearing the overgrown orchard, giving old garden furniture a new lease of life, and clearing areas for the clients of Thrive to start enjoying!

Established 40 years ago, Thrive has three centres in Birmingham, London, and near Reading where hundreds of client gardeners come to take part in therapeutic gardening programmes. Thrive’s Horticultural Therapists work with a wide range of client gardeners including people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, autism, long-term illness, and those with poor mental health. They use plants and gardens to help improve people’s physical and mental health, as well as communication and thinking skills.

A big thank you to all the team at Thrive for supporting us on the day and a big well done to all those who took part for making such a difference!
